Kylie Jenner Shuts Down Rumor Her Mom Is Managing Kanye and Travis Scott (UPDATE)

UPDATED 4/4, 1:25 p.m. ET: Kylie Jenner has denied the report that her mother Kris is working on the careers of Kylie’s co-parent Travis Scott or brother-in-law Kanye West:

See original story below.

There are few women who can guide a sex tape scandal into one of the most successful careers of all time. Kris Jenner is one of those women. It’s long been known that Kris is the mastermind behind her large family’s outrageous success, and it seems like her daughters’ beaus are taking note. Kanye West and Travis Scott are now reportedly receiving Kris’s momagerial guidance.

Sources have told Page Six that Kris is the reason behind West’s recent departure from his longtime manager Izvor “Izzy” Zivkovic. Scott’s also decided to leave his management team. “They’ve been off and on for years,” the source said of West and Zivkovic. “But Kris is in [West’s] ears. Kanye’s been making changes and [he and Zivkovic] have grown apart—but Kris definitely gives her opinion and Kanye’s all ears. She’s about brand building and is gangster at it.”

There’s no doubt that Kris plays the role of manager well. On Keeping Up With The Kardashians viewers watch her organize Kourtney’s meetings, Kim’s perfume launches, and Kylie’s appearances. The Kardashians famously run almost all aspects of their many enterprises, so it’s no surprise that even baby daddy’s are being encouraged to keep things in the family. “She also told Travis Scott to fire Mark Gillespie,” the source said. “They are 100 percent part of that Kardashian-Jenner brand.” Scott left Gillespie’s Three Six Zero management last month.

Kris’ first project could be helping Kanye wrap up his latest album, which has led him to take up residence in Wyoming and work with the likes of Drake, Kid Cudi, Nas, and Mike Dean. He also fraternized with Rick Rubin over the three-day weekend. If a new album is imminent, then the momager turned rap manager could be working overtime very soon.

Kanye West Was Spotted Hanging With Rick Rubin on Easter Evening

In case you had any doubts that Kanye’s next album is about to be flames, be reassured with this recent spotting of Rick Rubin and Kanye West together. X17 captured the two outside of Kanye’s office on Easter evening.

Rubin was a vital collaborator during the making of his sixth studio album Yeezus. Just over a month before the album’s release, the Def Jam co-founder and producer was called in to help overhaul what could have been a messy record. In an interview with Newsweek, Rubin describes how his involvement on Yeezus came to be: “[The original version Kanye had was] kind of meandering, unfocused, usually without his vocals. I assumed that the album was scheduled to come out next year. So I said, ‘When are you thinking of finishing up?’ And he said, ‘It’s coming out in five weeks.’ Like completely confident and fine.”

In a little over two weeks, Rubin and Kanye reworked the album’s sound completely. “The idea of making it edgy and minimal and hard was Kanye’s. I’d say, ‘This song is not so good. Should I start messing with it? Can I make it better?’ And he’d say, ‘Yes, but instead of adding stuff, try taking stuff away.’” He concluded his Kanye story saying there “maybe” could be a Yeezus part two in future.

Recently, there’s been Kanye West spottings in Jackson, Wyoming, where he’s presumably working on his next album. Travis Scott, King Louie, The-Dream, and Kid Cudi have also touched down in the cowboy state to hang. West himself has remained silent about the project.
